This is a fantastic review about our ‘Baby Snugs’ Rachel Bustin from ‘Family Life Unscripted’ has written a fantastic review with pics of her little girl Dottie wearing our octopus baby snug.
I love knitted items for babies and children. My mum is a huge knitter and knitted everything for us when we were small. We always had a new knitted jumper on, in fact she knitted all our school jumpers. This was back in the 80’s when school blazers were not a thing at small country schools. Mum made the raffle prizes for school. They were knitted dolls and animals stuffed with rags and were amazing. She’s a very talented knitter. Although she doesn’t do quite as much nowadays.
Vickie from The Baby Academy down here in Cornwall got in touch with us asking me if we would like one of the Merino Baby Snugs for baby dottie to try. These gorgeous snugs are all hand knitted and designed by local people.
The baby snugs are the first in a series of 100% Merino knitwear for babies which are currently available online at The Baby Academy in six vibrant colours and in three sizes newborn, 0-3 months and 3-6 months. They are machine washable at 30 and super cosy next to the baby’s skin.
I love the octopus design on coral on the snug we received. It’s very detailed and precise. Other designs available are the sunflower and starfish.
The snugs are fastened by one seashell button. They are easy to get on and off the baby without any other fiddly buttons or poppers like most other baby clothes.
Baby dottie is a big baby for her size (just like her dad!) so at 8 weeks in the photo she is wearing the 3-6 months size. I’m extremely happy with how warm they are to keep baby dottie toasty on chilly days. We have a fair few in Cornwall!
With being made in Cornwall they are inspired by the beauty of life by the sea. The Baby Academy are very excited about developing their brand and are currently in the process of designing a Merino pram blanket.
These merino baby snugs make ideal gifts for baby showers, birthdays and Christmases.
